Hi.  I am Tara Sells and I teach First Grade.  I taught Kindergarten for 3 years and am currently in my 8th year of teaching.  I have taught at the same elementary school for my entire career which has been wonderful.  We are a small school district and I really enjoy it and the people I work with.

I feel that I am good with technology.  With that being said, I am good with the technology that I have access to.  There is a lot of technology out there and I feel that I am very limited in what I have access to in my classroom/at my school.  A lot of what I have learned so far through the classes I have taken for this program, has all been new to me.  There is also a decent amount that I can’t do in my classroom due to limited, or lack of, technology.  I have learned a lot and look forward to learning more.

I can be very outgoing when I am around people I am comfortable with.  So far, when I have had to communicate socially with classmates, I do fine.  When it comes to recording myself through video and/or audio, it’s difficult.  My outgoing personality definitely runs and hides.  I am just not comfortable with it, but I am getting better.   I enjoy camping, spending time with my family and friends, and sports.  I am a huge sports fan.  I would much rather watch sports than any other show on TV.  I am married to a farmer who is very busy year round.  I have three kids.  My oldest will be 6 at the end of the month.  She is in Kindergarten.  I have a 3 year old who is in preschool.  My youngest is 1 and is a busy, busy boy!  He definitely keeps me on my toes.

I started taking classes in June and have learned a lot.  Balancing time is/can be stressful.  I feel like I have a lot on my plate at all times.  Completing two semesters makes me realize I can do it though.  It’s very exciting to continue my education and learn all that I am learning.  I look forward to getting to know my new virtual classmates.  Here’s to a great semester!
